Presented by Wyndham Social in collaboration with Artube
π πππππ β Christmas Special group exhibition
Established by Peterson Group at 33 Wyndham Street, Central, Wyndham Social, the contemporary platform for collective exchanges, partners with Artube to present βπ πππππβ, a Christmas Special group exhibition.
With a focus on fable narratives, this exhibition showcases a group of emerging digital and media artists and their creations. Through reinterpretation and construction of contemporary fable worlds, the exhibition presents alternative expressions of reality. Artists use their unique artistic language to connect the present world with fable philosophy, employing digital media as a symbolic tool to provide a fresh perspective on fables within a contemporary context. Through this reinterpretation, the creators invite the audience to connect their own contemporary life experiences and emotions, experiencing the power of storytelling that transcends time and culture.
Digital artist J.Hue explores the dark side of human nature in a series of digital artworks, including themes of devotion and greed. These works express the complexity and contradictions of human nature, leading the audience to reflect on how to maintain purity and kindness when faced with temptation. Waverly Wong, both an artist and a tarot reader, incorporates tarot cards into her creative process, interpreting the drawn cards as inspiration and guidance for her artworks. She presents different themes and stories, expressing her understanding and contemplation of life, the universe, and spirituality. Neocitypophk’s paintings focus on documenting and depicting the city, capturing its landscapes, architecture, and everyday scenes from the artist’s perspective. The artworks reflect the psychological aspects of urban dwellers and present the unique atmosphere and rhythm of the city through the lens of City Pop music, showcasing the intersection of urban culture and music. Ceramic artist tiramics creates a series of tactile and uniquely shaped pottery through introspective intuition. Her handmade pieces are practical yet carry indescribable and sincere emotions, inviting the audience to rediscover the everyday through touch. Noah Del Rosario’s creations capture the elusive and ambiguous spiritual aspects of relationships between individuals in the perplexing urban environment. With concise words, she delicately captures the intricate and subtle emotions and relationships. She will create a new mural on the LG/F exterior wall of 33 Wyndham Street from November 21 to 23.
The exhibition takes place during the Christmas season and will feature a range of art merchandise from artists and local brands such as ByLeona and Artube collaborating with herbal wellness brand MZK Life. These unique Christmas gift selections include limited-edition art prints, ceramics, accessories, and stationery. ByLeona, a lifestyle brand, presents refined porcelain tea sets that combine ancient Eastern aesthetics with a modern playful touch. Artube, crosses over with MZK Life, introduces a limited-edition Christmas collection of herbal tea packaged in the style of vinyl records designed by 4 local illustrators, themed around “small moments of happiness.” On the record covers, cats transform into different story characters, presenting various heartwarming snippets of happiness in life. These products not only possess unique styles but also embody a festive atmosphere and joy, aiming to provide an unforgettable holiday shopping experience for the audience.
During Christmas weekends, the exhibition will host artist and brand sharing sessions, further engaging with the Central community and the audience to foster connections and dialogue. A series of workshops will also be available, inviting the audience to interact with the artists and experience the joy of creation. Apart from Waverly Wong, who will provide relief and guidance through tarot readings, there will be painting workshops that allow participants to get to know each other through art, spending a heartwarming and enjoyable Christmas together.
