After captivating the taste buds of over 200,000 customers within just ten days, Mos Burger’s much-loved non-alcoholic sake milkshake is making a grand return in Japan. This time, the beloved Japanese fast-food chain has teamed up once again with Yamaguchi’s renowned Asahi Shuzo sake brewery to offer the “Mazeru Shake: Shinsei Dassai <Non-Alcoholic>”, a limited-edition treat that blends tradition with modern flavours.
The Mazeru Shake: Shinsei Dassai <Non-Alcoholic> is a delightful fusion of Mos Burger’s signature vanilla milkshake and a specially crafted sauce made from “Shinsei Amazake”, a non-alcoholic, koji-based sweet sake. This luxurious shake showcases the delicate sweetness of rice malt and the aromatic notes of Dassai’s pure rice sake, Shinsei Dassai, made from the revered Yamada Nishiki rice, often dubbed the “King of Sake Rice”.
One of the most appealing aspects of this shake is its accessibility. The drink is entirely non-alcoholic, making it suitable for all customers, including children, drivers, and those who abstain from alcohol. The sophisticated flavors of Shinsei Amazake, paired with the creamy richness of vanilla, offer a unique and indulgent experience that can be enjoyed by everyone.
To add to its exclusivity, the Mazeru Shake comes in a specially designed red packaging, inspired by the sunrise on the summer solstice, a design element first introduced during Dassai’s 2022 rebranding. This elegant touch not only adds visual appeal but also aligns perfectly with the summer season, making it a must-try for fans of unique and seasonal treats.
This collaboration between Mos Burger and Asahi Shuzo isn’t the first of its kind. The two brands initially joined forces in 2020, creating a similar sake-infused milkshake that became an instant hit, selling 200,000 units in just ten days. The overwhelming demand led to a second release in 2021, and now, after a three-year hiatus, the iconic shake has returned, much to the delight of fans.
For those who missed out on the previous releases, this is the perfect opportunity to savour a drink that blends the best of Japanese tradition with modern fast-food innovation. But hurry, as the Mazeru Shake: Shinsei Dassai <Non-Alcoholic> is available for a limited time only, starting from 17 July 2024 in Japan, and only while supplies last (¥420 for small size; ¥500 for medium size).
Whether you’re a fan of sake, curious about Japanese flavours, or simply looking for a refreshing summer treat, Mos Burger’s latest offering is one you won’t want to miss. Head to your Mos Burger if you are going to travel to Japan lately and experience the luxurious flavours of this unique milkshake before it’s gone!
