Sex Be With You

In the modern consumerist age, sex is not only widely discussed, but is also marketed to be used to sell products through a near-constant bombardment of imagery. Sex became digitalised and popularised, from easily-accessed online porn to constant coverage in the mainstream media. Sexual liberation from conservative society shall be celebrated. However, with sex being commonplace, it is not only about biological urges but also about power. In the modern consumerist society, any issue about sex is about the exertion of power or exploitation of someone or something. Artists Lau Hong Lam, IV Chan, Florence Lam, and Batten and Kamp will re-examine the relationship between sex and power that permeates our society in this exhibition.
