Songkran. Regarded as one of the most significant and most famous festivals in Thailand, is characterised by temple visits, family reunions, and annual house cleaning, on the one hand, and water fights, pumping music, and the world’s biggest water fight music festival, on the other.
As a celebration of Thailand’s annual New Year, Songkran is known as “the biggest water fight in the world”, symbolizing the washing away of bad luck and welcoming a fresh start. 2015 saw the introduction of Songkran Music Festival (S20) in Bangkok, making a splash to both locals and international travellers thanks to its powerful stage design, line-up of world-renowned and local DJs as a one-of-a-kind music event. To enhance the overall experience, a 360° water splashing system is in place, drenching fans as they dance and sweat to the beats. This annual event has since spread across Asia to Japan, Korea, Taiwan and for the first-time ever in 2023, S20 arrives in Hong Kong debuting as one of the biggest music events in the history of Hong Kong.
