The Gallery by SOIL proudly presented “Silhouette”, Yoshihiko Murata’s solo exhibition. Mr. Murata is a lacquer artist, as revealed in his quote ‘Lacquer art is intoxicating, it doesn’t make you feel the time and effort you put into it. Most importantly, it is a material that accentuates light and shadow.’ He appreciates the mysteriously austere sheen of lacquer. Besides, his obsession with shapes is rooted in his belief that harmonious and natural lines create beauty. His artworks were made of lacquer with different shapes.
